Faith Formation is an active, life-long process. It's something that we have to be active and intentional about... but how do we do that? What does it look like? What resources are there to support it happening?
A team of people for the Youth and Family Ministry and Building Healthy Parishes Vision, Strategy, and Support Teams came together and starting asking these questions. They wanted to do something to help parishes engage with Faith Formation, and searched for a place to start.
They ended up at the place that marks the beginning of a commitment to a life of faith - baptism. Soon after, confirmation and marriage were added to the list, as sacraments that involve preparation and and opportunity to support and resource ongoing faith formation.
The team produced a curriculum to help guide parishes as they help people prepare for baptism, confirmation, and marriage.
This work is just the beginning. Over the next few months, stay tuned for more resources and stories about the baptismal covenant, and how it shape continued faith formation in the lives of people within our diocese.
